The Illusionary Fortress is a simulation of the Japanese assault on the "back door" of Britain's great Asian fortress of Singapore in February 1942. Players take on the role of either British General Percival or Japanese General Yamashita.

Unlike most games that are “about Singapore”, this game focuses entirely on the Island itself, with both sides forces in the condition they were in at the end of the campaign down the Malayan peninsula.

Game scale is based on daily turns with each map hex being approximately 1 (mile?) kilometers across. Army units are primarily regiments with a few battalions in support.

Components:
8 Page rules
22"x17" game map
264 single-sided counters
2 Players aids
