This is a solitaire game on the final days of the battle of Ortona, between 22nd and 28th December 1943, when the fighting in a small port city on the Adriatic coast by the remnants of a couple of German paratrooper battalions and two regiments of Canadian troops became harsher, the first ferocious and insane city-fight on the Western Front during World War II.

The battle was much more prolonged and bloody than the strategical importance of the city asked for, but both contenders used the situation to boast their ambitions and took it as an example of what their determination could do in the war. Hundreds of men, dead in that battle, paid such a foolish and cynical decision.

In this game, you take the role of the Canadians, sent inside a ruined city, full of snipers, machine gun nests and booby traps, trying to do your best to avoid losses and take the city according to schedule.

arnold kimmons 1 4 1 Unplayable. Some counters are yellow/gold printed on red which makes them almost unreadable. The map is supposed ot have rubble values for some zones - they aren't there. Don't waste your $$ on this one.
CAvan Cunningham 5 5 5 Find the rules confusing like evryone else. Artwork uninspiring. Bought ofr the subject matter.
Christoph Haeberling 5 5 5 Interersting theme but many questions and ambiguities.
Gene Dickens 8 7 8
