The battle of Fleurus was fought during the so-called Bohemian phase of the 30 years war, but it was fought in the Flanders, between a Spanish army under the command of Gonzalo de Cordoba and
a Protestan army lead by mercenary leaders Mansfeld and Christian of Brunswick, called by the Dutch to relieve the city of Breda by the siege led by the Spanish army under the command of Ambogio Spinola. The aim of the incoming troops was to cut off the retreat of the Spaniards, not simply to force them to relieve the siege. The Protestant army reached the opponent near Fleurus and a furious battle ensued, where the better lead (even if weaker) Spanish army was able to crush the enemy and offer an easier retreat to
Spinola.

Each combat unit represents from 200 to 900 soldiers. Each hex is about 50 meters. The game lasts 10 turns (from 7 am to 11.30 am). Each turn is half on hour.
